The Miller Park Zoo was looking to update their master plan to include a new education and events center for their robust and popular education programs. The goal was to create a facility that could host education and banquet type events for multiple groups of varying sizes. The facility contains a large multi-purpose room that can accommodate a 200 person banquet, educational classes, or birthday parties. It also has an office suite and animal housing spaces for the many educational programs that will happen in the building. Together we developed a project budget and 3D renderings so fund raising efforts could begin.
NEEDS:
Larger, flexible educational spaces that can also be used for banquet events
Animal housing space connected to educational program space
A community facility that can be used with or without access to the zoo
SOLUTIONS:
A large multi-purpose room with operable walls that can re-configure into rooms that accommodate anywhere from 20 to 200 people and up to 4 events at the same time.
Large indoor and outdoor animal housing spaces immediately adjacent to the education spaces
Security measures allowing entry to the building either outside the existing zoo or through the zoo itself depending on the activity
